Has online dating worked for you

Yes I would never go on tinder, though two of my work friends found serious relationships on there (one couple married and the other buying their first house together) I hate the format as Im not overly concerned with looks, I dont have a type other than my preference for tall men, so swiping on those who you find initially attractive just seems so superficial to me. And those are usually ones with something hanging around... I met a couple of them who sleep with anyone- and who have had many partners.. And I know a couple of guys who use woman for 'hang out', when they may have a couple already on the go. I think there is so much more to attraction than physical appearance. I wouldnt use this as my only avenue to find dates but maybe to dip my toe in the water. Be cautious though because a lot of guys are out there for sex and will pretend to be into you to get it. Meet in public places and do not fall for early flattery. I vowed not to use online dating after a few bad experiences, I had poor judgement and weak boundaries which I think made me a good target for low quality prospective partners. by someone who knows a couple of these sites well-- thru experience.

I noticed Tinder was for hookups mainly so I’m done with that site. And of course there will be scum bums just like any other dating site/app. On the other hand, the ones that charge a fee seem to be more inquisitive with the Profile questions and if you answer the questions in a way that conflicts with the site’s intentions; it will kick you out, you won’t be able to complete your profile. I’m not sure, but again, free seems to attract A lot of “undesirables.” Hi Fire-I have tried almost all of them. I only ended up meeting one guy from there but we did date for two months. Talked to quite a few guys but only met with one of them. I found many awesome, quality guys on there, and many of the guys I’d met are now in LTR (as seen on my Facebook feed) myself included.Ok cupid allows married people so I would avoid that personally. I would try POF or Match or both and see how they work for you. I had a hard time finding guys I felt I was on the same page with as far as lifestyle, career goals, education, etc.I have only used POF in the past so time to try out some others. It worked for me too in the sense that I met some really good people some of whom I am still in touch with (in fact 10 minutes ago I donated to a charity in the honor of one of them -we met a few times as friends only, interesting back story) and it honed my dating/screening skills. Think I need to set myself a time limit so Im not wasting hours each day on there. I think it's self-aware of you to know that you are vulnerable to people who might not be good quality. Screening is essential and to me a phone call before meeting to do that screening is essential. I think it's self-aware of you to know that you are vulnerable to people who might not be good quality. Got stuff I need to get on with in the real world too lol No, not much success, and has been over 5 yrs.
